  1. My math IA is due soon and I was going to focus on weight vs. heigh of jump (grande jete) of ballet dancers. iw as going to take my data from famous dancers and analyse the videos in LoggerPro but I realised that I don't know the scale of the video and each dancer is a different distances from the camera. What should I do? Another idea I had was to look at the height vs. flexibility of a dancer and I could collect the data myself by getting dancers I know to do "sit-and-reach" tests. I would then find the minimum, maximum, median, lower and upper quartile, and IQR. Then I would create a scatte
  2. I'm a Math HL student and I'm not really that strong in this class so I'm finding this exploration quite difficult and I'm struggling really hard. Each time I choose a topic for my math exploration, I'm either told or I find out that it's too simple for the level of a Math HL student. My current topic is the SIR model but I can't find data values for the parameters and I don't know how to make it more 'HL'. I've decided to change my topic and discuss 'The square root of 2'. Would this be too simple?? If it is, what other mathematical concepts can I discuss to make it the level of HL. I've
  3. Hello! I have a quick survey for my mathematics internal assessment, 3 questions, only takes about a minute to finish! Thank you very much for your help!!! ~Chandler link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/BMK7F2D
  4. My IA topic is 'Exploring the 17 plane crystallographic groups in Alhambra Palace' I visited AlHambra Palace, that is located in Granada Spain last summer, and was really impressed by the complexity of its architectures and wall patterns. And the influence of math in art really struck me. I also really want to major in Architecture so that added to my interest, and Islamic Architecture is a big interest of mine. Alhambra palace has been said to contain all 17 crystallographic groups (wallpaper patterns): which is the classification of two-dimensional patterns, based on the symmetries in the
  5. Is it encouraged to use the first person when writing an internal assessment for Math Studies? Optional: a list of different graphs and ways to apply statistics would help greatly. By the way, I'm doing the dependence of birth order on GPAs of high schoolers Thank you!
