Hello guys, I feel kind of screwd cuz I'm writing my reflective statement in Swedish right now and have not the brightest idea about how to formulate or write it. We've already written two before but we cannot get any response from our teacher because 'IB says so' so I was wondering if you have any tips that I might use while writing a reflective statement

At the time of choosing my IB subjects, I chose Self-Taught Language A1 since I thought it would be an "easy" subject. Now I am reconsidering. As it is titled Self-Taught Language, I thought I would be studying the language itself, the grammar, the verbs etc. but now I am not sure. Is it literature? If so, is it a difficult subject? The language I chose was danish, since it is my mother tongue, but I was never taught the language properly. My comprehension is good but my writing, not so much. I am considering changing. Plus, I don't think there are many danish people in my country ma

Hi everyone, I am struggling with my research question so I would like to ask for your opinion and help. I have originally chosen two books Dr No and On Her Majesty's Secret Service both original Bond novels by Ian Fleming, from which I wanted to choose just one for my EE. First, I was determined to do OHMSS, then I switched to Dr No, but now I have no idea what to choose because I'm struggling with my research question. In case of Dr No, I would like to explore the depiction of women (namely the leading Bond girl) and try to prove that she is actually not that 'overly sexualized stereoty

Hello Guys and Girls, I'm looking at doing proof-reading and translation online for a summer job as I cannot commit to working to a bricks and mortar type job due to me moving back and forth every once and a while inconsistently through the summer. This would allow me to work through a computer wherever I am, whenever I like. That being said the one company I'm looking, and probably others require some sort of a validation of my language level, being a Native speaker is not enough. Is there anywhere online I could get a certificate or validation through a test for my reading/writing of Croatia

Hello, I am starting my IB program this year and I was wondering, in order to take Language B (either SL or HL) do I have to know this language beforehand? I will be attending school in Sweden, however, I am not from there nor have I spent more than a month there. I am planning on taking Spanish HL (I have been studying Spanish for four years) and I really want to learn Swedish. So is it possible to learn a language without having an experience in target language? Thanks in advance!💘

Guys, I am currently doing my written task and I am asked to write about the linguistic style of a poet. I have done it, but now I need to do my 200 words rationale. Can you guys explain to me about what I should write for the rationale? Like, why did I choose that poet and what else should I write?

I am currently a student taking IB and a subject I have been quite struggling with is SL Spanish. I have taken Spanish for 3 years prior but I still have been finding it very difficult to keep up with classmates and do well in tests. I was wondering if it was possible to move down to AB Initio Spanish even though I have prior experience in that language. I have asked my IB coordinater and she said no. Is there any where I can find the offical regulations to this. Also would like to know where she gets this information from because she would not tell me where it says. Thanks

I have a few more days until I have to decide on my Extended essay topic. I am torn between choosing Business (HL) or English (SL), but I'm not sure if I can do my extended essay for an SL class. I most likely want to study Business or marketing in university; however, I just thought about a really interesting idea for an extended essay that only applies to my English Lang&Lit subject. I know it'll be better for me to pick Business as that is the direction I want to go towards to in the future, but I feel like I will be way more interested in writing my extended essay in English.

Hi guys, my EE sort of 'proposal' due date where we seriously consult to the EE supervisors and all that are next week's Wednesday, and honestly I'm still so so confused and I need help or just some suggestions or anything, please. Here are the subjects I am taking: Economics HL, Mathematics HL, Physics HL, Chemistry SL, English A SL, MandarinAB. So, since the start, I've always intended on taking Economics EE because from all my other subjects, it seemed impossible for me. (I've been getting rock bottom scores for Math and the school have no more supervisors for Physics). So, I've b

Hi all, I just wanted to know how difficult it's going to be for me to study and succeed in IB. I'm currently studying in grade 10 and I'll most probably start studying according to IB's curriculum next year. I'm currently studying the Holt McDougal Modern Chemistry, English Literature/writing, Biology, and Phyiscs. The McGraw Hill Algebra 2 on top of social studies, Farsi literature/writing and Arabic. I find all of the subjects I'm studying relatively easy (except Farsi. Even though it's my mother language), and I aced all of my finals last term. But I'm kinda stressed to be

Hi!! I take as a language A at standard level, my native language, Romanian. (I also take English A HL). One of the external assignments for it is the written assignment. Does anyone know if I'm supposed to upload that on candidates.ibo or does the teacher upload it? On my account, I already uploaded TOK essay and I have to upload WT's in English and EE. But there's nothing where to upload the written assignment.

Hi, I am currently in my first year of IB, I moved to France with no experience of the French language. I am currently doing French B and my teacher suggested French Initio, would this be a good option considering I don't know French?

Hello Everyone, So I will keep this short and hopefully, someone can answer my question. I am currently enrolled in the Pamoja French ab initio course and I'll admit I am not doing very well at all and am quite concerned about my progress. Also, the teacher we have is terrible. He is five weeks behind in grading, cancels lessons five minutes after they should have started, and all in all its just been a terrible experience. My question to you is this - Can I switch courses from French to Spanish? We are in week 11 of the program, however, I believe I should be able to catch up in the Span

Hello guys, so I got a 5 (nearly a 6 as suggested by my teacher) in my HL English L&L for my Y1 final exam, but I am super worried cuz I need at least a solid 6 for English, since my other HLs are Economics and Chemistry which I am getting a 6 and a 5 respectively. I need a total HL points of 18, so I am aiming for a 6-7 in English, 6 in Economics and hopefully a 6 in Chemistry too. But for now, can anyone suggest how can I ace my internal assessments cuz I heard that for a 7 in English you need very strong IAs? We did one FOA already, I got a 6, any tips for getting a 7? (I am doing my ne

Hi, so today i picked my IB subjecs. I chose English Language & Literature HL, French SL,Geo SL, Physics HL,Math HL, and Music SL. However i was relatively weary about this choice, since i have never really been great at English or liked it very much; i dont know how i managed to get an A in both language and literature at GCSE. On the other hand, Geography is a subject i love and find fascinating, however only got a B at GCSE (i was predicted an A* throughout the year). So my question is - should i move my English down to SL and Geo up to HL? How much more difficult is HL Lang Lit vs
