I'm starting the IBDP next school year and I just submitted my final courses for IB. I chose HL - psych, bio and french b, and SL - math aa, english and chem. Initially when I picked these courses, I was planning on doing Zoology in uni, but now I'm a bit more hesitant on doing Zoology. What major/degree can I get in uni with these IB courses? And what do you think of these courses? (aka what are the stress levels like for these classes). Thank you very much!

As of right now I am still midway of MYP year 5 (which is the last year of MYP) and so for me, DP will still start next school year (summer of this year) but we did already choose our DP subjects. So as for my second language, I decided to choose French ab initio (which I have no prior knowledge on) and I kinda just wanted to start learning the language so I kinda get a head start and so it will make it a bit easier for me next year. Therefore, I just wanted to ask you guys how I should start studying French (e.g. do you recommend me to learn through language-learning platforms, through textbo

I understand that with words of quantity like 'beaucoup de', the 'de' stays the same. But I'm confused as to when I should write just 'de' or 'du/de la/de l'/des', if I have a phrase like "[noun] de/du/de la/de l'/des [noun]". For example: Le chat des enfants. Le chat de l' enfant. versus Mon mode de vie. Une épidémie d' obésité.

Hey there, So basically I've done a French B EE and my school wants to conduct the viva voces but they do not know what language I have to conduct my viva voce in as I am the first ever student to do a Language B EE. Would anybody happen to know if I have to do it in French (the language of my EE) or in English (the language my exams will be conducted in)? As you can see, I'm in a bit of a sticky situation and would REALLY appreciate some help. Thanks in advance!

My school offers 3 different Language B subjects: Indonesian Acquisition, Chinese Acquisition, and French ab Initio. Out of these 3 languages, I am only fluent in Indonesian since it's my native language, however, due to this, there's some policy restricting me from choosing it, leaving me with Chinese Acq & French ab Initio. With no prior knowledge at all regarding these two languages, I decided to choose French since it's in an Initio. With that in mind, will French ab Initio be difficult and is it a time consuming subject when it comes to revisions?

I am moving to a new IB school in Canada during the middle of ninth grade. In my old school I did Advanced Algebra 2 in 9th grade. Do they have an option of continuing on that path or do I have to start at algebra 1? I also was doing French 2 at that school. Can I countinue that?

Hi everyone, I got my IB results today and i did not pass sadly. However, history is my 7th subject and if I switch it with my 6th subject which is French I would pass. Im just wondering if its a thing that could be done so that history would be on my actual diploma and French be the additional subject. Thank you guys in advance

hey guys, so I was checking course enrollment and the degree requirement/ "anatomy of a glendon BA" manual at York and it mentioned a "bilingual requirement"? does this mean that french is mandatory? If so, my ab initio level isn't going to help me much 😕

Hello, I am about to submit my final draft of my French B written assignment. My word count is currently 418 (SL word count is 300-400), which means I am over the word limit by 18 words. I told this to my teacher at school, but she says I shouldn't worry about it. Which is why I was wondering whether going over the word limit by a bit is really okay like my teacher says or will this result in a one/two mark penalty? I have been avoiding the submission process as I am worried (I don't want to lose a mark for something as dumb as this)

Hey there, I've finally decided on doing an Extended Essay in French (Language B) and have set my heart on looking at the following works: - 'L'Etranger' by Albert Camus (book) - 'Lacombe, Lucien' by Louis Malle (film) But I just need a little help in narrowing down my focus and would really appreciate some help from you guys. So far, I've come up with the following: - Comparing the characters of Lucien and Meursault (first I will carry out a character analysis of the 2 characters and then compare these analyses) - Proving that 'Lacombe, Lucien' is a

Hey there, Let me just cut to the chase - I have my EE proposal due within this week and I have a rough idea of what I want to do However, at the moment, it's a very general idea and therefore it's not very clear/focused so I was hoping I could get some help from you guys! Since I'm doing a Language B EE (in French), I naturally selected a novel to look into which in this case is 'Les Belles Images' by Simone de Beauvoir. Now something my supervisor and I came up with was to compare feminist literature in Europe with feminist literature in Asia, around about the same time (

Hi, I'm on the fence about a few of my IB courses. I want to major in Psychology and attend an Ivy League Law school after I graduate. I wanted to do History but our school, unfortunately, doesn't offer it. I'm currently in grade 10 Chemistry and have an A-plus; moreover, I'll be doing grade 10 Biology next semester. Apart from the fact that I like Biology, I believe that taking that course will make me appear to be a more well-rounded student who is good at both sciences and social sciences. I've never taken Psychology or Business classes before; however, I'm interested in them, especially Ps

Hey Guys! I'm new to this whole forum thing so please bear with me. So a few of my classmates and I are enrolled in the Pamoja French ab initio course although, we seem to be having a few problems with our teacher. Firstly, no matter what we do none of my classmates, nor I, can please our teacher when it comes to assignments. We have tried everything including sticking as close to the rubric as possible and even going so far as to create our own study group with native speakers to try and learn as much grammar as we can to add to our written assignments but even if we use advanc

Hi, I am currently in my first year of IB, I moved to France with no experience of the French language. I am currently doing French B and my teacher suggested French Initio, would this be a good option considering I don't know French?

I started writing my EE for the French B topic field. It is about French, written in English. Myself, my supervisor and even the IB coordinator do not know if this is acceptable, so a yes or no answer as to whether I can do this or not is appreciated from someone who has done this or knows more about restrictions around second language (language B) Extended Essays, thanks.
