I'm currently writing my Extended Essay and have a few questions about citations and footnotes. Note: my school uses MLA 7. When I use a source for the first time in an essay, must I write down the whole citation? If I then use it again later on, should I use an abbreviated version of the citation? If I have several sentences from the same source, should I put the footnote at the end of the last sentence or multiple footnotes after every sentence? Should I place my footnotes before or after a comma or full stop? Can I put more than one footnote in a sentence? Additionally,

For my History Extended Essay, I use a few websites that have old constitutions of the People's Republic of China. But I have no idea how to cite them! For example: http://en.pkulaw.cn/display.aspx?cgid=52993&lib=law https://sourcebooks.fordham.edu/mod/1949-ccp-program.asp Is there a proper way on how to cite them? Or should I simply cite them as websites?

I'm having trouble with citing a source. How would you format the citation correctly in MLA7? https://www.cia.gov/library/readingroom/docs/CIA-RDP79R00890A000900010002-5.pdf The source is a briefing: Created on the 11th of September 1957 by the NSC (National Security Council?? Is this correct?) Approved for release by the CIA in 2001 (so I guess published online in that year as well) Found on an online database (Central Intelligence Agency's Freedom of Information Act Electronic Reading Room) Accessed on the 1st of May, 2018. Basically, the source was

Hola fellas, first full copy of EE is due on Oct 5th (internal deadline-don't panic), and I was wondering how many resources like books or journals mates doing their ee in physics have. As you understand, the majority of the theoretical background for the experiment can be covered by 1-3 resources only, but our school's guidelines talk about a "vast range" of sources, without specifying the acceptable number for each group. I'd appreciate some input. Thanks a lot

So I'm in Spanish HL and I submitted my written work two days ago. My bibliography is in English, which I know is an incredibly stupid mistake! Of course the source (the novel we read) is in Spanish, but the words "and" and "print" appear in the bibliography. I asked my teacher about it, but she said she doesn't know anything about that (we are a new IB school). Will this greatly affect my grade?

I've finished both my reflective statement and written assignment. My teacher's not been clear as to whether we have to have references and a bibliography or not. I haven't used any external references. Do I still have to reference the quotes from the work used ( A doll's House) and use other sites? Do I have to have a bibliogaphy? Please help, my final WA is due this week!

So I've been working on my EE in English B Literature and I read my books on an e-book reader(Kindle). Because pages aren't shown on kindle, only locations and percentages( for example LOC 456 - 4%) my question is whether can I write the location numbers instead of page numbers, when I want to cite a quote from the book? Or should I just buy the books and look for the pages?

Hi everyone, I'm getting ready to submit my extended essay next week, and I'm polishing up everything and double checking my sources. I have a doubt in regards to citing quotes from secondary sources: what do I do if there's a quote from a book that I want to use and is cited in the book to be originally said somewhere else? More specifically, my EE is about art and DalÃ's work (it's more specific than just that, I promise), but there's a quote that I found in a museum guide that I bought during the summer that I found interesting to use. And in that book, the quote is cited to be first pub

Guys, I've got an important question about referencing in the IB. If i want to do an in-text citation (i think that's what it's called a citation in the body of my assignment, in the footnote), should I do the full MLA citation or should i put the URL there? and once i do either of them, should i include that reference in the bibliography again? so if my IA has 18 references in the footnotes, should i add all of them to the citations in my existing bibliography? okay I just read the guide, and apparently there's a difference in references, citations and bibliographies. i'm still confused
