Hello! I am applying for unis in the US and Canada. I just finished the first semester of my senior year. This second semester will be all about finals. I am taking Physics, Math AA and English A lang lit at HL; and taking Spanish A lang lit, chem and geography at SL. Ever since the IB started, I have not been the good student I used to be and rather failed at like most things. I now want to clean my act, get myself together and study like I used to before in order to ace the finals. I was considering to take a gap year (but not travel) because I would like to apply to college

So, I am doing English Lang/Lit HL in IB and I will be giving my mocks soon. So I just wanted to know will I be required to do IELTS exam or not because of me doing Lang/Lit HL. Also how long are the IELTS valid for?

Hi guys, I have been quite frustrated lately with my searches so I came here specifically. I am a pre-IB student in Poland, public school first gen, our first graduates finished IB DP just a year ago or so. Many people at my school are more inclined towards visual arts, history and geography hence why these classes are standard. However I haven't heard of a single person taking HL math and our math teacher said the course is so hard she would only let one person from our class take it. So now we have winter break, I can't really contact her and ask for sure if the class is offered or not and t

Hello all! I would like to study in France after graduating in 2021. However, in the process of my application I have faced some difficulties. Could someone who has already applied to France or is planning to, give me some advice and share your experience? P.S. I am not applying to Science app or any educational institution that would know the IB. Thank you!

Hello everyone ! I am an IB student graduation 2021 ( EU citizen ). I was interested to study medicine in the UK for the past 3 years, but since Brexit is happening and the fees are rising even more than before I decided to step back. I still wanted an English speaking country so I chose Ireland which has fees at around 4,000$ annually. My question is now is here anyone who tried to apply to med schools in Dublin, Cork etc.? Maybe give some tips on deciding a uni, or best accommodation, experience etc. I would be forever thankful !

I recently received my IB marks a few days ago and I'm not really happy with it at all ( like at all ). My total score is 25 & I missed the upper boundary grade by 1 point in 3 different subjects & both the EE & TOK, meaning that I could have achieved a higher mark. I failed to get into my course by 3 points & am thinking of two options: 1. apply to a different course for now and then transferring to my original course throughout the semester 2. remark some of the subjects where I'm off by 1 point from the upper boundary grade At this point, I don't really

Greetings all, I plan to be doing Law in the UK after my IBs. I have been in discussions with alumni and educators and they have varying opinions on my science subject. As of right now I am doing Maths AA, Art and Sports Science for my Standard Levels. Should I consider switching my Sports Science for a more 'accepted' and 'popular' science such as biology or chemistry, or shall I continue to study Sports science, which I believe I will achieve a higher IB score in? TL;DR: Should I (read: Do Unis) prioritise Subject Choices or IB Score?

So i finished last year the IB with 30 points (29 + 1 for TOK but i lost one point because there was a fraud problem in history HL which was one of my courses so they just put an average on everyone) and i also got the bilingual diploma for english and spanish. With that i wonder which unis or in which countries can i study a humanities degree with this. I am currently taking a german course (currentlu b1) but i doubt i will take the DAF before i must apply to unis if i want to start in april. In any case any help or infor you can give me is appreciated.

Long story short, I did a bio extended essay, messed up the experiment, instead of isolated colonies I got a single weird blob. No data collected. Failed the experiment. Am I allowed to use external data to support my arguments?

Hello everybody, So i did the IB exams may 2017 and I ended up with a final result of 27 points which I am quite pleased with considering how I really struggled throughout the programme and was predicted to fail. However, the only grade I don't like is the grade 2 I got in Maths SL. I really regret taking SL and wish would have taken Studies instead. I am actually going to resit Maths SL and although I have studied, it has been a struggle to do so independently. I am interested in applying for UK unis in 2019 and I have found several unis that accept 27 points. (I want to study archi

Hello. I'm very confused and I feel like I can't talk to my parents about this anymore or any of my teachers, so I'm trying here. My dilemma: I would say I'm quite wishy-washy in terms of what subject I want to study. I know I want to do something science related, but I don't know what exactly it is at this point. My parents want me to study medicine because their reasoning is that I should go for a job where I won't have to work for anyone (they're against me entering the corporate world and to an extent, I agree with them). Now my problem is that I'm not exactly against doing medicine, there

Hi guys, I attend a school in Germany that both offers the Abitur system and the IBDP. After the first semester of Abitur, I realized that IB would be better for me so I discussed a switch with my IB coordinator. He said I could either join the IB next semester (2nd semester) after the christmas break or join the IB from scratch next year. NowI want to join as soon as possible and rather not retake the year but in IB, but my coordinator said that without a report for my first semester, I wouldn't be able to study in Germany. To what extent is this true and does this apply to AL

Hey guys I have already finished my grade 11 and till now I have no idea about what I want to do in my future or about my career choices. I really want to get into a university in either new Zealand or Australia. I'm really interested in music and literature but i'm thinking i might not make a career out of these cause i'm just and average singer and i don't think i will make it. Also i'm not extremely good in writing so that brings it down to 0. Now I'm extremely worried and don't know what I should do. My subjects are: Eng HL - 5 Psych HL - 6 B&M HL - 5 Math stud

Hey! I'm thinking about my subject choices and I'm intrigued by theatre and visual arts. However, I'm scared they'll be seen as "soft subjects" in uni. Is this true? I'm thinking about either taking one of the art subjects or then global politics. Also, how would you describe the differences between visual arts and theatre? Is one harder or more time consuming than the other? Any and all experiences and tips are welcome!

Hi guys, As I want to study economics at a selective university (in U.S) in the future, and I cannot stand taking Math HL at the moment, would it be sufficient to take Math SL combined with AP BC calc? I find Math SL very easy and score 6's/7's frequently (this is since I am repeating one year of the IB), so how hard would it be to shift focus during IB (repeated) year 1 and really study BC calc for almost a semester to take BC exams in spring? In this way I can compete with stronger applicants without having to struggle through the other than calc material in HL Math? Thnx

Hi, I am a pre-IB student planning to go on to do a philosophy major. I do not know what subjects I am going to take, however, I have got the following outline in mind: English B HL (I think I could have done A2 as a second language, however, it is not offered in my school) Maths HL (Inspired by Bertrand Russell on this one) Turkish A1 HL/Physics HL/Economics HL (I am pretty much in turmoil) Philosophy SL (If I could take it HL, I would, however, it is not offered in my school and IB Online only has philosophy in SL Physics SL Turkish A1 SL (If I take one of

Hi everyone! We just had an EE launch. I'm a Year1 IB student. I want to do Computer science at university and our school does not have IB Computer Science as a subject. Which courses can I choose to make sure that my EE is useful for my university major as well? My subjects are Chemistry, English A, French B, Maths, Biology and History.
