Hii! My HL's are Biology, Chem and Business management. MATHEMATICS SL, English sl and Hindi sl. I had physics up till grade 10 (IGCSE A*). Can I major in Computer science with these subjects in the US (colleges like Georgia tech, Purdue, Wisconsin Madison, etc) (or Canada)? I know they review each applicant holistically, but still subject do matter... Also roughly how many points (out of 45) will I require to be competitive for admission in Georgia tech!

Okay, this question is not too related to IB, but I am doing the IB, and I will soon need to decide which of the exams to take. Both SAT and ACT are very similar, but at the same time, they are quite different. I hope some of you guys could help me out. Which one should I take? Hello all, Long story short I dropped the full IB diploma a few days ago and I am now currently doing the IB certificate. I am doing 6 subjects, 4 SL's and 2 Hl's. I dropped Biology HL to SL, it was just too much content for me to handle. Anyways, my question is will I be able to get admitted into a good school? I'm focusing more on Canada than America in terms of schools. I am in my second year of IB and my current score is 26 but I'm trying to push it up. My counselor and I emailed most of my American schools and they mostly said they don't care about whether it's the full diploma or ce

Hi my fellow IB classmates I am a Y11 student currently taking my first year of IB (it's been 2 months already as of this post) at an international school in Hong Kong. However, there's a special case for me. Originally, I am leaving for Canada or the United States to continue IB or IB/AP due to the limited subject choices offered here in HK. Due to certain events, I broke my forearm and in the process also severely damaged my ulnar nerves, preventing me to leave as constant medication is required. Hi guys, As I want to study economics at a selective university (in U.S) in the future, and I cannot stand taking Math HL at the moment, would it be sufficient to take Math SL combined with AP BC calc? I find Math SL very easy and score 6's/7's frequently (this is since I am repeating one year of the IB), so how hard would it be to shift focus during IB (repeated) year 1 and really study BC calc for almost a semester to take BC exams in spring? In this way I can compete with stronger applicants without having to struggle through the other than calc material in HL Math? Thnx

Hello everyone, Hope you are having a good day Well...I'm going to get straight to the point, I'm scared about whether or not I'll be going to Uni next fall. Basically I'm a full diploma student in a foreign country, my family moves around quite a lot due to my dad's job. Hello, I was wondering if the options I choose in my HL subjects affects my admissions in universities especially USA. For example: I have taken Sets as my option for Math HL, but I was wondering if it affect my admission, because sets is comparatively easy to calculus. Would taking calculus give me an advantage over sets when it comes to applying for colleges? Thank you, Abhishek

Hi all, I am currently applying to the US (fall 2017) and noticed that most of the regular decision application deadlines are in the first week of january, does this refer to the last day to start an application or the last day to send in documents/grades (because our mock grades are released at the end of january/beginning of February as well as the SAT results). Will they still accept my mock grades and end of year report in jan/feb or do i have to be completely finished with the application before the january deadline on their website. Thanks.

So it goes like this, I had my IB examination due in May and I got my result on 6th of July. Before IB exams begun, I had already filled the form in order for my result to reach the university I had applied to, I could even see the name of the University on one of the tabs where it showed the list of universities that will be getting my result, however, here is the catch its almost 20 days later now and still my result didn't reach the university. I am currently finishing my first year in the IB diploma. My current grade average is of 90. I am a Mexican student planning on applying to American universities in December. I think we all know that IB is VERY rigorous and I don't know if it is really worth it. The main reason why I'm staying in the diploma is in order to get into a good university. The alternative I have is taking three IB courses (I would choose HL Math, HL History, and SL Information & Technology in a Global Society) and I would probably raise my overall GPA. When applying to a U.S. university, is it possible to only send your IB score (and IB subject scores)? I am also taking regular classes and getting percentages and letter grades in those, so I have a normal school transcript, but I've been focusing on IB so my grades look pretty bad. I know at some schools you only have to take IB, and you don't even get normal school grades, so would U.S. universities accept only my IB scores? Thanks in advance!
