Can anyone explain the difference between these two formulas? I am thinking of doing my math SL IA topic on time dilation so I need clear understanding on these. I know that one is the time dilation formula derived by using hyperbola and the other one is the famous time dilation formula, but I'm not sure how they are related to or different from each other. (I'm also not too sure how the first formula is derived since I don't have the knowledge from advanced algebra.)
Hey, So I've decided to do my Math IA on Time Dilation for the SL Syllabus I was just looking for opinions, on whether its a good idea or not and if I could score very well on it. All suggestions and thoughts are appreciated. I've focused more on the easier explanation for time dilation by just looking at it in special relativity problems as opposed to general relativity (the latter is more confusing and requires more abstract Math). How do you guys think I could make it better? Thanks
Hello! I'm having a bit of trouble with my math IA. I chose to do it on time dilation, since I am really passionate about space and time and I thought it would be quite interesting. Except I have a bit of a problem, I can't seem to figure out my thesis. I was planning on making this an investigation about the effects of time dilation, it's applications, and significance but I can't seem to form a thesis from that. I would be much obliged to any suggestions or help, thank you!
