Hi! I'm doing an Extended essay on English Language and Literature, focusing on Agatha Christie and her novel And Then There Were None. I'm especially fascinated by the subgenre in which this book falls into, the locked-room mystery/impossible crime. I want to look into how choices made within the story and choices made by Agatha as she wrote the book contributed to developing an impossible crime. (Eg. Character interactions/how they viewed one another, and literary devices Christie employed respectively. Hopefully this makes sense.) The research question I'm considering is: How is the lo

Guys, I'm looking for a company or firm I can analyse for my Business Management SL IA. Is it better to look for firms that face a certain issue and then analyse it or should I look for a firm based on a certain method of analysis. To me, writing a research question looks like a never ending process. It would be great if you share scored exemplars and resources for the same. Thank you

I want to do something like: assess the role of exercise in the rehabilitation of teens recovering from substance abuse. I have found a few studies about it and I really like the topic, I just don't know how "psychology" it actually is. I also want to make sure that this is an okay thing to talk about in an essay. If anyone else has any ideas please let me know. Thanks!

Hello! I need some suggestions or at least a bit of help with an IA research question. I'm interested on the case of Jack the Ripper, although I am struggling terribly with a research question. I wanted to do something about the consequences after the Jack the Ripper case had been open up to the public. Like did the police changed the way they do their work? How did the public take it? Like that sort of thing, although I'm not sure where to start to do this research question.

Hey guyss~! ^ ^ Just need some advice on my extended-essay RQ for art. So as of now, we are in the process of finalizing our research question and by next week, we are to create an outline. My research question is, "How did Edgar Wright translate the stylistic features of the graphic novel, Scott Pilgrim, into the film, Scott Pilgrim vs The World?" My EE supervisor was satisfied with the RQ. However, she advised me to narrow down the term "stytlistic features". Just having trouble here since I want to make use of art terms to further support the subject base of this EE which

I've been struggling with my chem ia topic - every idea I have turns out to be too hard to pursue with my current knowledge and skills or I just have no idea how to come up with an actual method to measure something. My teacher isn't too helpful either - she isn't too keen to give me any tips or help me develop my ideas into a valid research question. Lately, I've been thinking about investigating how does the presence of different metal ions affect the rate of hydrolysis of esters. Is it a good idea, should I take it seriously and look into it? And what method could I use?

Research Question: How do the authors of "Of mice and men" and "The Great Gatsby" explore the pursuit of the American Dream during different time periods? Hi, can you please advise me if my research question is either too broad for an English EE, and if it is how should I adjust it to make it more suitable? Also, I have already done a brief plan, which is to compare the similarities and differences in how the theme 'American Dream (AD)' is explored in the books during the Great Depression and the Roaring 20s, for instance in 'Of mice and men' the author explores the AD using differen

Hello everyone, I am a doing DP1 at the moment and I would like to hear some opinions about my research question in biology. My research question is: "Is there a significant difference between gamers and non-gamers reaction time?". I will use a click test which records the reaction time of when someone clicks on the computer screen when it changes to green. Please tell me if I should be more specific or what I could improve in this question. Thank you very much!

I need to change my RQ a little bit probably... I know it is not good to make an EE of science without doing experiments yourself, but I won't change my mind. My RQ is Why are the physicochemical effects of celestial bodies important to generation of life? I will narrow the life, but I don't know if I should focus on a certain physical or chemical effect, since the information might not be enough. Celestial bodies I think maybe using one astro, or using more and comparing them.(I think Jovial and/or Saturnine systems). Would appreciate some help...

Hi, this is my first year as a diploma. So for my extended essay, I chose psychology as my subject. And my topic is the influences of parenting style on the behavior of an ADHD child. I'm still brainstorming about which behavior might be suitable for my EE. I came to a conclusion on self-confidence, and anxiety. Any tips regarding my EE topic? Or any advice for a suitable behavior I should research on? THANKSSS~

Hey! Sooo... I'm about to begin writing my extended essay, and though I've got some ideas I liked to write about, I'm somewhat stuck with the research question. Could someone help me design (or give ideas) for a research question to begin writing about?? Or maybe tell me some tips if you're writing / wrote on these subjects?? I'm trying to decide myself between writing about the Naval Technologies implemented during the XVIIth century because of the Pirates (defense mechanisms, bigger, fatter ships, etc.) or Spanish Linguistics, maybe jewish influence on the language. Thanks!!

I need a to form a "research question" for my EE, I just don't know what kind of question. I know for my EE I want to analyze either Debussy's string quartet and Ravel's string quartet (based on debussy's) or just Debussy's alone, but how do you make a question out of that? I have something along the lines of "To what extent did Debussy's String Quartet affect the structure and content of Ravel's string quartet" or something like that but I feel like that isn't like... IB enough. Like AP focuses more on music theory specifically but Ib music focuses more on analyzing the context, style, and fe

For my Art EE, I was thinking of using the question "How are American and Japanese art influenced by one another and how are they different?". Is this topic too vague? Should I specify a specific area of art? Is the topic even usable at all? Any feedback and suggestions on this topic would be great. My 2,000 word checkpoint is next week and I haven't even started so I need help ASAP!! Thanks!

Hi. I've decided to do my EE in English, focusing on Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. I'm not getting any good advice from my supervisor, and the internet isn't really helping me. I've gone through a lot of book changes prior to this, more specifically dystopian and feminist books. However, I've read that these are really overused topics, so I wanted to try to think out of the box. I decided to choose Percy Jackson because I think that there is a lot of content I can analyze for my 4,000 words. It's okay to choose a relatively 'easy' book for EE, right? Right now, I

I’m doing my Extended Essay on the effects on the city’s tourism of a music festival and all the smaller events it sponsors. I’m planning to mention how it gathers people and activates different economic areas, so it triggers economic growth in the region. My question would be ‘To what extent is the music festival effective at increasing tourism in the city?’ or something along those lines. Though I think it’s too broad and should be specified more. I appreciate any tips on how to make it more narrow or maybe approach the question in a different manner! Thanks.

Hi everyone! Ok so, my original Extended Essay research question was "How are the common themes of betrayal and love portrayed differently in the Shakespearean comedy “A Midsummer’s Night Dream” when compared to the tragedy “King Lear.” However, my adviser said that it was too narrow for an EE and I should compare two different playwrights instead. I'm not really interested in going outside of Shakespeare, so I have decided to completely change my topic. I'm still sticking to English Literature, but I think I'm leaning towards novels instead. This is where I need help. I really want

Hi, Im having trouble deciding exactly what my ee research question is. Im doing one comparing the giver and the handmaidens's tale and looking at what characterizes dystopian novel such as these, is that a good enough reasearch question or too broad? I separated my essay into looking at: What is supposed to be the ideal? Who is in charge(benefiting)? here i also looked at how they ruled with both fear or respect and how they contrasted Who is paying (losing)? Who tries to stop it? And then my teacher suggested I look at what this says about us, but I fea
