Hello! My first post on here. I have to select my extended essay topic by the middle of this week and I'm still a little unsure about my specific question. I know for sure I would like to do a literature essay that analyzes various Edgar Allan Poe works. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas or suggestions as to what specific question would be a good idea in order to get high marks.

Hello! I am currently doing a Geography EE and am a bit lost on how to come up with a concrete question to base my research off of. My question revolves around - - To what extent is the HDI of Kerala and British Columbia comparable in terms of poverty development? (Full changed question still in works) - poverty in BC (what is the government doing) - poverty in Kerala (what is the government doing) - poverty headcount ratio - How does gender play a role? - Possibly some section due to COVID 19 I am a BC resident, so I am able to possibly collect first

Hello! I have decided to do my EE on Global politics and I just wanted to see if anyone can give me any tips. I'm trying to achieve a B+ and I'm really struggling here <3_<3 The EE is about the discrimination African-Americans go through and how much that discrimination has to do with someone's Identity.

Hey guys, I need advise or opinions on my Physics EE plan. I’m considering about investigating the effect of drag force and Magnus effect on a projectile motion of a tennis ball. Is this a advisable EE topic, or is it too simple for an EE? I was worried if this fits more on an IA rather than an EE. Thanks a lot!

Hi everyone, I am struggling with my research question so I would like to ask for your opinion and help. I have originally chosen two books Dr No and On Her Majesty's Secret Service both original Bond novels by Ian Fleming, from which I wanted to choose just one for my EE. First, I was determined to do OHMSS, then I switched to Dr No, but now I have no idea what to choose because I'm struggling with my research question. In case of Dr No, I would like to explore the depiction of women (namely the leading Bond girl) and try to prove that she is actually not that 'overly sexualized stereoty

Hi! I am planning on writing my EE in English A. These are some of the texts I have shortlisted so far: 1. 1984 2. Jane Eyre 3. Pride and Prejudice 4. Fasting, Feasting 5. The Dispossessed 6. Tess of the d'Urbervilles Could someone pleasee give me some tips on how to choose a book for the English EE and let me know if my current shortlist is okay? I am really interested in justice, particularly in gender roles/ gender inequality, challenging societal ideals and also in the negative impact of advancing technology as is seen in 1984. - I am op

So, I'm doing my EE on a topic within the visual arts and I'm close to finishing. I noticed many of IB's example EEs have abstracts in addition to introductions but my supervisor hasn't said anything to me about adding an abstract. Is an abstract necessary and is it included in my word count? (I don't have much room left and I don't want to exceed 4000)

I told my teacher that I wanted to do my EE in English, using the work of Stephen King. I asked if it was better to talk about one book or to compare two different books, and he told me a comparison would be a more interesting choice. I was reading IT but still had to find the second book and the topic to compare. I wanted to take a completely different genre of book but that would be a lot harder and I don't have much time, so I might end up choosing another one of his books like The Shining or Pet Sematary. Regarless of what book I choose, I still don't know what topic to discuss in my EE. I

Hi guys, my EE sort of 'proposal' due date where we seriously consult to the EE supervisors and all that are next week's Wednesday, and honestly I'm still so so confused and I need help or just some suggestions or anything, please. Here are the subjects I am taking: Economics HL, Mathematics HL, Physics HL, Chemistry SL, English A SL, MandarinAB. So, since the start, I've always intended on taking Economics EE because from all my other subjects, it seemed impossible for me. (I've been getting rock bottom scores for Math and the school have no more supervisors for Physics). So, I've b

Hi... I plan to write this EE under the theme Equality and Inequality. I was wondering whether this RQ would provide enough scope to write 4000 essay: To what extent have the Singaporean government subsidies for education and housing improved social and spatial mobility in Singapore? I was thinking of comparing data from two government datasets to determine whether the policies have been successful in the past decade. Moreover, I was thinking of mapping the data to show the difference in access to good schools or housing and how they impact development in the areas with less access. Would such

I've had a really hard time choosing a topic. I'm interested in a lot of different subjects, and one doesn't really stick out. We had a deadline to choose a topic, but we can change it. Right now I'm planning on doing mine in psychology, researching how second language acquisition affects child development, specifically within education and brain/language development. The problem is, my school does not offer a psychology course, and I've heard that if you haven't taken the class, you shouldn't write an essay in that area. I'm also interested in Environmental Systems and Societies, b

Hello everyone! In the next month or so I have to have my EE topic chosen. Yikes! I'm leaning toward an English literature EE. Unfortunately, I cannot think of a book to write about - most books I've read at school have been analyzed to death and would be scored harshly by people who knew every line (i.e. Hamlet) and most books I've read personally may or may not count as having literary merit. Anyway, I need some help with book choices. I don't care if I do an analysis on one book or a comparison of two. Here are some ideas I have: +Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut - I like the idea of this

Hi guys, So I have been researching a lot about what book/s I should do for my EE (due 2018 but I need my topic in the next month or so). One of the aspects of literature that really interests me is the use of magical realism and mysticism in modern literature. I was wondering if anyone could give me any pointers around the following topics - I know the research questions aren't too well formulated but my EE supervisor should be able to help with that, she just doesn't know much about any of the books or topics I want to write about at this point. - How does Tony Morrison use mystic

Hi guys! I'm just looking for some feedback for those who have done a chem EE or are planning one etc on my ideas so far. I'm really interested in forensics which is what led me to discover chemiluminescence. In the reactions used to discover blood on crime scenes, it is the iron in blood which catalyses the reaction, causing it to start and glow. I want to look into the effects of different catalysts on this reaction based off either transition metals and the space in their d orbitals or electrode potentials (advice from someone else - I don't really understand it yet as we haven't been tau

Hello! I have a question relating to my EE that hopefully someone on this board can answer. I have chosen to write about telenovelas, which are Lain American soap operas. Specifically, I want to write about how the cultural and history of a country influences the telenovelas it produces. Although I am very excited and passionate about writing this essay I am concerned I will not be able to fulfill the requirements of a Film EE. Although I have taken a theater class, I have never taken a film class. Also, I feel like my research question will not fit the topic, because it addresses cultural and

So I am considering doing my EE in english, I'm doing the Language and Literature coarse, and though english may not be my best subject, I think I would enjoy writing my EE on it (more than other subjects anyway). I have been thinking about either writing about the works of Dr. Seuss, John Green's "The fault in our stars" or maybe George RR Martin's "A Game of Thrones" but I don't know what i should be looking at, or how to get a proper topic. If anyone has any suggestions, it would be much appreciated

Hi, I am completely new to this and have no idea whether I will get a response but here we go anyways... ... I am currently in the process of writing up my Physics Experimental Extended Essay looking into the Ancient Chinese Spouting Bowl. Specifically related to Resonance. I do not fear not reaching the word count. However I fear that the topic is actually lacking formula. Is this going to be a major concern when I hand it in? Any feedback would be much obliged. Thanks in advance

Hello everyone. I'm doing my EE in group 3 of Lang and Lit, which focuses more on media and it's effect rather than a thematic analysis of a book, perhaps. I was wondering if anyone has done this before, and if you could please give me some tips or good references. If you could refer me to where I can read good past papers, that would be amazing. Thank you all. Have a great summer!

Hello: I am having and extremely difficult time choosing my EE topic (surprise!). I have read about design technology in the EE Guide book and I find it fascinating. So I have to hand in my finalised topic for my Extended Essay in physics sometime within the next few days, my supervisor liked the idea of doing something in musical physics and so I wanted to look at saxophone reeds... The only thing is that I don't really know where to go from there. I can't find any information or resources or anything on saxophone reeds and my teacher says that is a good thing and means that my topic will be creative, but it has just made it very hard for me to narrow the topic down.... If there is any suggestions on how to narrow down the topic it would be very very much

I am in the middle of doing my EE in ITGS, and its about how social networking affects students. I got some primary data (using questionnaires) but I feel my analysis is too shallow. Do you guys have any ideas on how I can deepen my analysis, and maybe other methods of research and sources I can use ?
