  1. I am planning to go to Merivale HS IB MYP/DP in grade 9 (I am currently in grade 8.) I do not know what to study for math and english. Please help.
  2. Hi guys, I’m currently in IBY1, taking HL biology, chemistry and English B. I really want to go to the University of Guelph for BS, and later go there to veterinary school. I’m struggling with chemistry, my teacher is a bit of a bully and I’m scared before every lesson. Also, I get mainly 5s and likely (and hopefully) 5 as a predicted; does it put me in disadvantage while applying to Guelph? I have 6 in Biology and 35-36 is likely to be my predicted score at the end of IBY1. Is it too low for my dream university? Thanks in advance for your help
  3. Hey guys, how good do you guys think my chances of getting into UBC l are with the following grades. These include the 2 bonus points and are for a B.SC in Computer science. 1st year IB 1st term-21 2nd term-28 2nd Year PG 31 Any thought?
  4. Hi guys! I’m a joyful (still) IBY1 kid from Europe but recently, I’ve started thinking about studying in Canada. For my first term I got ~36 and I’m taking HL Biology, Chemistry and English B (English as lang A was not available :() Can you tell me if Canadian universities somehow like IB international students? I’m especially concerned about UBC, McMaster, McGill and Simon Fraser University (but I’m open to suggestions as I don’t know many unis in Canada) Plus, do you know average scores universities require? Is Canada going to throw me out (like the US) after graduation?
  5. hey! I'm interested in applying to some universities in Canada for Arts & Sciences Programme (e.g. University of Toronto), however, I'm an international student and the fees are really high. ho difficult is it to get a scholarship to study in Canada as an international student? is anyone (especially not from Canada :)) studying/applying there and could answer a few of my questions regarding the application process and scholarships? thank you!
  6. I've noticed a lot of people are asking about how many point they need to get into some Canadian universities or if their points are good enough. Many of us now people who have been accepted in with certain scores, so let's share? Below is a quick format you should use--just to keep posts easy to read. You can include how many people you know who received a certain score and got in--to add more credibility. You may also include what reps have told you--if specific. University: Program: IB points achieved Concordia University: Bsc. Science - Biochemistry 27 Points mimumum--unknown source McGill
  7. I'll be completing the IB diploma in 2021 and the predicted scores will not be out till march next year. However, according to the grade that I'm getting right now, a 37 to 41 predicted score can be presumed with the major weakness being at Chinese Literature at 4 or 3. I'm a Chinese national with a Canadian maple card (Permanent residence) so I will apply as a domestic student with an international diploma. I'm aiming at applying to the business schools (Sauder, Rotman and the like) or the Faculty of Art (Economics, Political Science) What are my chances? Thanks eh
  8. 29 points without the bonus points. Math HL, Chemistry HL, and Physics HL.
  9. To whoever reads this forum, hi I'm a dp2 student who's going to take the ib exams next year may. I got a 40/45 as my predicted score and I'm hoping to apply to UofT, McGill, and University of Waterloo So far I know that we have to apply for Ontario universities through the OUAC application but I don't really get how we are supposed to send our Predicted scores. Do they require the SCHOOL to send it in behalf of us, or are we allowed to just enter it ourselves (sounds very risky, won't it be easy for people to fake it?)? I don't really get the procedure of applying to them. I know
  10. I want to study a hospitality degree in Canada instead of Switzerland because I can't stay back and work thereafter graduation. However, I don't find any school which offer the course. Please help me out! Thank you!
  11. Are there any medical universities in Canada that accept Math studies? My HL’s are biology, chemistry and psychology
  12. Hii! My HL's are Biology, Chem and Business management. MATHEMATICS SL, English sl and Hindi sl. I had physics up till grade 10 (IGCSE A*). Can I major in Computer science with these subjects in the US (colleges like Georgia tech, Purdue, Wisconsin Madison, etc) (or Canada)? I know they review each applicant holistically, but still subject do matter... Also roughly how many points (out of 45) will I require to be competitive for admission in Georgia tech!

    Glendon BA at York

hey guys, so I was checking course enrollment and the degree requirement/ "anatomy of a glendon BA" manual at York and it mentioned a "bilingual requirement"? does this mean that french is mandatory? If so, my ab initio level isn't going to help me much 😕
  14. Hi, I am currently in MYP5, going into DP1 soon. I am wondering if the Economics IB course is required to be taken if I wish to study Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Business Management, etc. in Universities in Canada/America. I am currently studying in Sweden. I am also taking Math Studies.
  15. Hello, I paid the application fee for Ryerson University through 105F application already and got my ID MyRyerson account. However, I do not see any portal for submitting IB predicted grades. Does Ryerson not accept IB predicted grades? I also thought I could fulfill my English requirement through my predicted grade of 7 for IB Language and Literature A class. But on most of their webpages for both the subject and the English requirement, they only show the requirements for those who have COMPLETED the IB Diploma but I am due to complete IB this May 2018 and the application is due Feb 1.
  16. Ok so I originally declared my subject as history because it definitely makes sense to me to declare it history, but now one of my teacher's is saying that my ee is on the border of history and cultural and social anthropology, and i really don't want to go through the whole expensive process of changing my subject for $200 USD when I would still have to rewrite my EE whether i change the topic or not. My RQ is: To what extent did European colonization impact the traditional roles of Indigenous women of Canada Basically I said that with European colonization, Indigenous society shift
  17. Hello all, Long story short I dropped the full IB diploma a few days ago and I am now currently doing the IB certificate. I am doing 6 subjects, 4 SL's and 2 Hl's. I dropped Biology HL to SL, it was just too much content for me to handle. Anyways, my question is will I be able to get admitted into a good school? I'm focusing more on Canada than America in terms of schools. I am in my second year of IB and my current score is 26 but I'm trying to push it up. My counselor and I emailed most of my American schools and they mostly said they don't care about whether it's the full diploma or ce
  18. I was predicted a 35. Economics HL: 6 Global Politics HL: 6 Physics HL: 5 Math SL: 6 English SL: 5 French AB: 5 TOK/EE: 2 What are my chances of these universities 1) Western University (Ivey) 2) Queen's University (Smiths) 3) University of Toronto (Rotman) 4) Waterloo (AFM) So far I've been accepted into 1) McMaster 2) Ryerson 3) Wilfrid Laurier 4) York (BComm)
  19. Hi everyone, I am currently in 12th grade and doing the IB as well as the international Abitur. I've completed my Biology and Math IA and almost completed CAS. However, I am scared of all things that will come in the future like FOAs and all the exams, etc. Doing the IB isn't doing double the work though because my school combines a lot of stuff. That is why you can't choose which HL and SL topics you want, these are decided for you. Things like the EE are still something I am working on. However, I'm not entirely done yet. I want to study in Canada, Manitoba. Will they accept me with the
  20. Will someone who lets say gets 24 points be eligible to go to university?
  21. Hi everyone, Because we are writing our mock exams in about two weeks I've been wondering whether they are essential for applying to university in Canada or not. I have been studying for approx. two weeks now and I am simply scared because I don't feel like I am ready for it and I'm scared my life depends on it. Any explanations on that matter would help me a lot! Kind regards, Amekara PS: Of course I'm talking about the predicted grades while referring to the mock exam.
  22. Hello everyone, Hope you are having a good day Well...I'm going to get straight to the point, I'm scared about whether or not I'll be going to Uni next fall. Basically I'm a full diploma student in a foreign country, my family moves around quite a lot due to my dad's job. I'll be going to 12 Grade next week, so far I'm surviving IB and meeting deadline in terms of EE, CAS, IA's or TOK.. I had terrible to decent marks in 9th & 10th grade, I got mostly 3's,4's,5's and a few 6's (I did the MYP). I switched schools after 10th grade and moved to a new country and honestly It was pre
  23. I heard that the acceptance rates of IB students into institutions are higher compared to the total population acceptance rates? I wanted to know if this is actually true or not because I also heard that its not...If this is true, does it apply to USA and Canada universities ?
  24. Hello, I'm an international student currently living abroad doing the IB program. I'm in Grade 11 and I have a few concerns about university. I'm fluent in French but English is my first language. I have plans to study either international relations or psychology in university. I'm very worried that I won't even get admitted into any college or Uni... I messed up in MYP (grades 9 & 10) honestly I didn't think the first two years of high school would be that important. After grade 10 I moved schools, I started out the first semester pretty well I was trying harder but then all of a su
  25. My School is so f**ked up that form half term of grade 11 it changed the board to IB from a really easy one, so the transaction wasn't smooth and I had to pick some rough subjects as HL: Maths, Computer science, B&M SL; English,Second language(Hindi),Physics So now I am worried for my PG and I don't think so that I will get more than 30 points so can anyone suggest some Canadian universities which accept less than 30 pointers. THANK YOU ADVANCE
