Hi everyone! I would be really grateful if you could take a minute to fill out this survey It’s for my Biology IA where I’m looking at the correlation between blood groups and Covid-19 symptoms. (All responses are anonymous and no personal information is collected) https://forms.gle/KcW89YXLdKGMrz8Z6 Thank you so much!!

For my biology IA I am going to compare one's BMI value to the new Relative Fat Mass Index value to determine how inaccurate BMI is for each person (I will average the percent error at the end as well). However, I'm struggling to determine what my independent variable is. Would it be an individuals height, weight, and waist measurement (which sounds wrong because its technically more than one thing being changed) or the test used (BMI vs. RFM)? I think the dependent variable would be the calculated percent error.

Can someone explain to me the statistical analysis option for the Bio IA (I'm in HL if that helps)... Our teacher gave us a really bad explanation and I don't understand. We talked about IA's in class like once and never again so our teacher didn't really give us any time or help at all with this so I figure this is the easier route -- how do you do this type of IA and what's the best way to go about it??? Plz help. Thank u fams.

Hi fellow IB students, I reaallyyy need you help!! I was told today that my BIO IA is too easy to be an IB IA. My project is on weather different concentration of soap better eliminate or kill bacteria found on our hands. Since it was too easy we started talking about changing my project to finding out how long does it take for bacteria to be eliminate on a wet rag put in a microwave (it is known that that method eliminates bacteria). However since that study has been done before I would have to add another factor... We thought about putting it in a microwave where we can adjust the

Hey guys, As stated in the topic title, our school is having trouble finding a proper biology teacher, let alone one that is IB certified. I just have a few questions if this lab would be eligible or if it seems "good enough" to score well for Bio HL. I am hoping to send this in for the "design" criteria.. Basically, I want to set up an experiment to compare the breakdown of lactose using lactaid pills (or other similar pills) for skim milk vs. whole milk. My hypothesis is that it would take a bit longer to breakdown lactose in skim milk because there's more of it (lower the fat content, h

Hey guys I have a few questions regarding the biology internal assessments, since our teacher is new to the IB, he isn't sure of what's going on either... 1) To my understanding, we have to send in at least two labs, and we can kind of choose which criteria to be assessed on? Does this mean we only have to send that part of the lab report or do we still have to send the whole thing? (i.e. I choose to be evaluated on DCP for this lab, so do I send in the whole lab or just the DCP part?) 2) Is there a lot of difference between assessing bio hl vs. bio sl labs? I'm doing hl and I'm afraid my l
