SO tomorrow is My Bio IA first draft submission, which i have to present to my Biology teacher, Principal, Group 4 Faculty and DP coordinator. My topic is the effect of different auditory stimulus (in my case music) on the focus and concentration of a person (students). I came up with this idea 2 days ago and my teacher just approved it and asked me to prepare the required document. But I have no idea what I have to write in the first draft since I havent done my experiment yet so no result or anything. Kindly help me and lemme know what exactly a Biology IA first draft should contain.

Hi, I had several issues regarding my Extended Essay in Psychology. First: Which research question would be the most suitable? Option 1: To what extent is criminal behaviour based on biological factors? Option 2: To what extent can biological factors predict criminal behaviour? So our school just started talking about the math SL ia which will be due in February, and our teachers gave us close to zero pointers. I have no idea where to start. I initially wanted to do something related to the Gini coefficient and wealth inequality in certain countries, but I heard somewhere that statistics IAs are often marked harder by examiners. So I'm in DP1 and M23 and I'm having trouble choosing between HL Chemistry and HL Physics. I'm about 1 1/2 months into IB at this stage and I'm just so confused. I'm currently taking HL Chemistry, Maths AA and Economics with Global Politics, Spanish ab initio and English LangLit at SL. I'm looking to study economics at uni but I also have a small interest in Computer Science which I want to explore to see if it's for me. This would be my only science but it would be at HL. Hey there my Gs, I'm about to start IB in a few months, 3 to be exact, and I wanted some final pointers on Subject options for myself. So I'm in a dilemma between Geo SL and Econ SL, but the thing is I am notoriously bad at Econ and absolutely despise going to Econ classes. But people are telling me to not switch subjects at this stage, which is why I am having a bit of doubt. hey guys i'm in the process of setting an idea for my maths ia and could use some help i have a decent idea about modelling where i model the worlds highest jump and the worlds longest jump. then i will also find the area of both to determine which jump is bigger( idea was inspiration from a video) i could really get your advice and any tips because i have never done a modelling ia before any advice on if the maths would be sufficient and any tips to expand it if not also with desmos am i allowed to autofill a line for me that plots my points thankyou

Heya, So in the beginning of IB11, my teacher advised us all to do an IA on a topic we actually like and are interested in. I had two main ideas in mind, one was doing an experiment on something related to hurling - a Gaelic sport which I've recently picked up through the wonders of CAS, and the other idea was doing something related to solar power - because I'm big on renewables and my dad used to be a lobbyist for solar power companies. My teacher said no to the hurling idea because he thought it would be too hard to find enough controlled variables, so I went with the solar power topic.

Hello. I've been trying to find a topic and research question for my extended essay but I have been unable to do. I have found an experimental technique in the calorimeter which measures energy content/calories and I want to measure energy contents in different foods but I do not know what I should investigate specifically and expand on this. I don't want it to be as simple as "as x increases, y increases". Testing out different foods and seeing which one(s) have the higher calories is way too simple and I'm basically stuck..Please help!

So i'm a new year 1 IB student and it has just been 2 months into school and im already thinking of dropping ib...i feel very stress about it and with the online class, i feel like its not helping me. i also just moved to a new school thus i'm more stressed out about the entire situation. i feel like the school im in might not be the suitable community for me as i feel like its too big.. also they're all very smart. apart from that, there are also some small factors that are making me feel not motivated to continue ib. what should i do? should i just change to a new school for year 2 or

Hello. I was wondering wether I should take AI SL or AA SL. I enjoy calculus and algebra more than statistics but I am not that comfortable with non calc. However I am worried that medical unis might not prefer AI SL? Would it be better to take AI SL and get a 7 or AA sl and get a 5/6? Thanks in advance

I am a certificate student and currently taking IB Chemistry HL, Biology SL, English SL and Math SL. I feel like l'm taking all the core subjects in IB but I won't get a diploma since I am a certificate student. I'm planning to study medical science but would certificates for these courses also help getting into competitive universities? I mean I don't regret taking certificate courses but some other full ib kids tell me that my choices are stupid :(

Hello I'm a new DP 1 student and I started looking for ideas for my EE. I decided to pursue chemistry as my subject and I have a solid topic in mind, but it's not wide enough. I'm going to investigate differents cuts of meat of different ages and I'll compare the values of protein and fats in each. What can I do else? And how can I make this a proper topic? I am currently in my first semester of grade 11's and am getting 3's rather than straight 7's in all my subjects. Is it alright if I'm failing most of my subjects for my first semester? Hi, I am an 8th grader and I have been planning to go into the IB program once I am a junior. At the high school I am going to go, you are required to be in the Pre-IB/ Scholars program to register into the actual IBDP. A lot of my friends have told me not to and that I will have no social life if I do this. However, I knew someone who did the IBDP while playing basketball and working. I'm doing my 11th grade right now and I've changed syllabus from a national syllabus to the IB. I'm clueless about the expectations, nature of IB and almost everything regarding it. My current school that I've moved into, by itself is new and not very experienced, hence lack in providing the students with clear guidance. So my TOK teacher informed us that we're not permitted to submit the TOK presentation in a form of a video, only a PowerPoint presentation is accepted by the IB. I was a bit conflicted by this new information so I asked the librarian and he said that we're allowed, as long as we present ourselves throughout the video occasionally. And then for a confirmation, I inquired the IB Coordinator and she said we're not allowed to use a video as our final presentation. So should I follow what my IB Coordinator said or should I just do what's easier for me and make a video?
