  1. I didn't do World Religions, but I found the IB guide for it here and on page 59 there's a list of possible topics, maybe from there you can start to think of your topic and how you would formulate your research question? http://blogs.4j.lane.edu/yamada/files/2009/09/ib-religion-guide.pdf Which religions have you studied? Maybe you can pick the one you found most interesting and start from there.
  2. I did Stephen King's The Shining and compared Jack's use of an axe in Kubrick's 1980 film adaptation versus a mallet in the novel. It sounds like such a bs topic, I know, but I managed to talk a lot about it and my teacher liked my presentation >_>
  3. Got an A on my Psych EE, but only just scraped it with a 29 Two graduating classes ago I know there was one girl who wrote an English A1 essay on Voldemort and the Oedipus complex and got 36/36 for that.
  4. Got my component grades the other day. English A: Literature SL - 86 (7) Spanish AB. SL - 94 (7) History Asia/Oceania HL - 73 (7) Psychology HL - 59(!!) (6) Physics HL - 77 (7) Mathematics HL - 69 (6) EE - Psychology - 29/36 (A - looks like I just barely scraped it ) TOK - 48/60 - B (presentation 20/20 and essay 28/40, even though it was predicted 35/40. Seems like the markers are indeed strict this year) According to my coordinator a 7 in HL Math is 76 and in HL Psych is 66, in case anyone needs it To be honest I'm quite shocked with Psych because I was pretty confident about my papers, yet
  5. I've been dying and waiting for a month for these, and here they are! English A: Literature SL - 7 Spanish AB. SL - 7 History Asia/Oceania HL - 7 Psychology HL - 6 Physics HL - 7 Mathematics HL - 6 EE (Psychology: To what extent do violent video games influence aggressive behavior?) - A TOK (did the fifth WOK question) - A Total - 43 I don't know how I dropped to 6 for Psych, could've gotten 44 but I'm happy with everything else so I don't mind at all! Great job to everyone here so far and to everyone else who have yet to see theirs, I hope you all did great too!
  6. I'm a bit glad to hear that, because two of my friends were like "dude instant 55!!11" and I blew the last page so hard it might have knocked me to the 30s. I made a stupid mistake in the cdf in 4 and I found 5 quite tricky. df was 4, because 6 categories - 1 (due to mean) - 1. I checked it with the calculator function when checking my p-value and it also said 4 P.S. What do you guys think the overall boundaries will look like? mid-70s for a 7?
  7. I think it was pretty easy in hindsight and I hope I did q. 1-3 flawlessly. But I made SO many mistakes in questions 4 and 5 that made me run out of time and it doesn't help that they're worth practically half the paper I'm hoping I still got a good score on that paper haha.
  8. I agree completely with you. Paper 1 was just a tad easier than 2012, so around 90-89, while Paper 2 wasn't so easy. It was a good amount between most paper 2s, so indeed around 84-85. Paper 3, all we can do is hope I take Series and Differential, how about you guys? I would rather say the opposite. P2 was easy although I made stupid mistakes, P1, hardest test I have ever done. Series and Diff - piece of cake. I hope you all did terribly bad so that the grade boundaries are going to be low, and so that I can get a 7 Series and Diff is a piece of cake?! **** dude, you for real? It's not like

    Help with 1984

I don't know if Eng B essays are similar but these were some questions my teacher gave us for an essay in English A Lit (did the book for Part 2). Hope these help: 1. Discuss Orwell’s aims and motives used in creating his dystopian society in Nineteen Eighty-Four. 2.Two key sentences in Nineteen Eighty-Four are I love you and He loved Big Brother. To what extent is the novel about love? 3. In what sense might the novel be considered a religious, rather than a political novel? 4.Do you think it is necessary to have an understanding of the historical backgound to the novel in order for the reade

  11. 1. What is your real name? Luthfi 2. Where are you from? Indonesia, but living in Singapore 3. How did you find out about IB Survival? I'm not sure... I think I needed help with something so I googled it and came here >_> 4. What made you register on IB Survival? Again, I'm not sure, I think one of the topics here gave me good advice for something. 5. When did you (approximately) register here? It says October 2011 6. What is your favourite IB subject? Math! Followed by Physics and History. 7. When are you graduating? In a week and two days 8. What are your plans for university?
  12. I'm a big fan although I haven't had much time to watch them since IB started. Still, after my mocks I went on an anime spree and I watched Guilty Crown, Darker than Black and the Fall 2013 animes e.g. Psycho-Pass, Shin Sekai Yori and Robotics;Notes. I've started watching them again now since I only have 3 exams left and I get bored at home >_> Some of my favorites include Code Geass and FMA Brotherhood. I used to be a major Naruto and Bleach fan but I stopped paying attention to their storylines a while ago :/ I started watching Shingeki no Kyojin yesterday and it turned out to be a
  13. I agree with you. The exponential question totally caught me off guard and I think I spent far more effort on that data analysis than on any other paper. Anyway, I said something like the relationship should be in the form of V = Voe-kt or something like that, then I disproved it by showing that the constant k is different for two different values.
  14. Agreed with Cameron, I think your question is great. I suppose to be a bit less wordy I could suggest: To what extent has the United States’ alliance with Israel affected US relations with Arab nations that are traditional enemies of Israel? or To what extent has the United States’ alliance with Israel affected US relations with Arab nations that are hostile towards Israel? But these are just suggestions - if you feel like I've taken away a particular nuance from the original question then don't follow them Btw I did Arab-Israeli Conflict for prescribed and it was great fun, so I hope you ha
  15. 177 hours (65/61/51), but without the 20-hour cap my coordinator put on each activity I could've easily approached 300 (for example, I only recorded 20 hours of MUN when I did 120+ hours )
