  1. I'm a little behind in my extended essay work due to my mentor suddenly leaving and then not being able to decide what to write about. also I may have been a little lazy over summer. I've now identified a topic but I'm worried that it's too 'obvious' as in it's just common sense. this is my topic: "Do supply and demand show seasonal patterns (uninfluenced by the business cycle or natural disasters) in the Australian retail sector in general and specifically in my local sailing school?" Please tell me what you think! love, charlotte
  2. it would be amazing if I got into business school of Amsterdam

  4. banned because you're making me look at pictures of distressed monkeys while I should be working on my world lit.
  5. "An imaginary life" by david malouf can go kill itself. Really, another novel about the meaning of life? Cliche... it's a shame because considering the characters and setting it could be so good. but for every page of actual storyline, there are 10 pages of pondering about the philosophical significance about the lack of language of spiders and whatnot. Soooo baaaad.
  6. "we" by Jewgenij Samjatin because it's just such a strange idea of society.
  7. I looooove "We" by Jewgenij Samjatin (granted I did read it in German). I just think it's such a misunderstood novel and deserves so much more credit.
  8. See, I've tried that, but it's just not working for some reason
  9. Has anyone had any luck proving the general statement using the principal of mathematical induction?
  10. I've been reading a few topics and I must say, I'm a little worried. Does anyone know for sure whether articles from the Economist are frowned upon? Apparently they're already too 'explained' and so our work will be too much of a rip-off. thanks for your help.
  11. I take HL math and let me tell you: it's a bitch. I was just like you, got straight A's for all my math tests so I decided to take HL math. And now I'm failing. I mean, you can always try and drop down (which is what I might be doing)so by all means go for it. just take into account that's it's really really hard. I guess the annoying part for me is that SL is not much of a challenge and HL is too hard. You may find that too. Also know that if you take HL math, most of your time will go into that. As a rule of thumb: for every hour of math in school, one hour of homework (not taking into accou
  12. Dutch universities are very chance-based. there are no interviews, instead your application gets thrown into a pool. The better marks you have, the more chance there is that you'll get picked out of the pool. Also, I'd like to say that Dutch student-life is great unless you don't speak Dutch. Everyone basically speaks English but all events will be dutch. Universities in the same city mingle at these events and they're not all gonna be international. The language used is mostly going to be Dutch so you might feel a little left out. I am Dutch and absolutely love Holland but you might want to r
  13. I'm really interested in marketing and consumer behavior but I'm wondering whether I can apply enough economic theory to my data, seeing that consumer preference is very subjective. Roughly, my research question is: "How does the claim 'Australian owned and made' affect demand/consumer preference domestically and internationally"
