  1. Hello everyone, I've decided that my subject of research for the EE will be Business and Management and I will be focusing on the acquisition of Motorola by Google. I plan to talk about the success/failure of the acquisition and what it means for future products from Google and changes to their business plan (their focus from software to hardware) So my official research question is: Will the acquisition of Motorola by Google change the focus of Google's product portfolio in the near future? Here are my questions regarding the EE: - Is 'near future' too broad? Should I set a quantifiable time
  2. According to her profile, she doesn't go on this site much, so you probably won't get much help from her. If you can find some rational behind using a linear equation, then by all means, use a linear equation. A lot of the points in the portfolio come from explaining yourself, while having the right answer is only a few.
  3. I did the same thing. For sources, I used the official olympic website, which is olympic.org, but it only posts the olympic records, not each gold medal height. So instead, I used wikipedia and cited olympic.org I also applied it to other track and field events, like long jump. Thanks for the reply! I was having a trouble finding sources because I didn't wanted to cite wikipedia, but hey! thats a really nice citing technique Applying the model to other sports sounds like a good idea, thank you (: So, does "apply" means to use the shape of the previous model function and trying to fit the da

  5. Hmm okay thanks I don't have chemistry and biology until next semester in September but I'll be sure to do that
  6. Hello everyone I just have a quick question about the IAs. I'm quite sure that the number of significant figures for all IB math exams/IAs/whatever is 3 right? Also, what are the rules about the use of scientific notation in IAs? For a number such as 0.00064, would I write it as 6.4E-4?
  7. Hey guys, I'm confused about the average mark that people get on labs. My friends and I last semester would always get around 8-9 marks out of 12. Is that good? If you want more details about where I lost the marks, I don't remember and the school keeps them under file.
  8. If you have problems simply with the format, you can also look at IAs from past years because the exemplars pretty much follow the same format for each year (make sure you're looking at the Type 1 IAs!).
  9. For math and physics, I just go over concepts and formulas and then do practice questions just like everyone else. I find reading over biology notes and then making quizzes for yourself and friends (try to make the questions challenging and similar to your teacher's style and have your friends write one back). I don't usually do the quiz thing; I only do it if it's close to a hard unit test of exams.
  10. I travelled when I was younger so I didn't really get to appreciate the places I went to, which I regret But I'm from Canada, live in Ontario, and I've visited BC too. In terms of other countries, I've been to the US, Mexico, and China I'm going to Europe this August to visit Switzerland and Germany!
  11. A lot of my friends have Macs and other Apple products so I consider myself to have 'used' them before. But I never really liked them because they're soooo expensive, and I like to get max specs/performance out of technology for what I'm paying for Also, I love the compatibility that comes with PC, it can run almost anything, or at least anything you might need. Also, you can buy your own parts to build a PC, which saves a significant amount of money!

  13. I hear you on that one... Hmm regrets.... Well I'm just finishing Year 1, but: - procrastination - not trying that hard on my French SL
