  1. Honestly, IB is intense and in order to actually get a 40 AND pass Maths HL, you really need to go to a very good school. And plus, the amount of work required to get a 7 in Maths SL would only get you a 3 in Maths HL. Do SL, but NOT studies. Make sure you get a 6 or a 7 in SL, that way your total points will be higher and you'll be at a competitive advantage. - (already in university)

  3. well if it helps i did write something similar for my university essays on history. i have sections on nietzsche, marx, darwin, freud & ibsen. it could help giving you info and whatnot (its got the bibliography etc)... just something to start with. what's your email? (if you want it, that is..)
  4. how about "are the visual arts more effective than historical writings in conveying the non-factual forms of historical knowledge?"
  5. Art is expressed objectively and is received and evaluated subjectively, making it individually definable. It is 6.8 billion different things; as such it is easier to describe it as the way something is done, rather than what it is. For example, a person may look at a pile of debris and see it as art, while I will only see it as debris. The definition that closely relates my definition of art is: “the use of skill and imagination in the creation of aesthetic objects, environments, or experiences that can be shared with others”. To define something as artistic, such as this photograph, I will r
  6. In formulating a hypothesis, it would normally be best if you do include some form of concrete information. In this case, it is best to provide that you should say theres about 95% CaCO3, this would give examiners the impression that you actually have a rough idea on what you are exploring. Remember if you calculate 91% instead of 95%, you need to justify the difference and perhaps provide room for improvement (if it is possible to improve) to achieve your calculated guess

  12. Hey! I actually did the same as you, I did 4HL's and 7 subjects (chemistry, art, english and business HL; physics and spanish SL). Personally, it was just to give me a challenge and see what i could do, and also the fact that i didn't know what career i was heading into (and i still don't). But over time, i discovered that it was really all a waste of time. i mean, i kept it up for a semester and a half, only to discover that i was really only giving myself an extra burden. Also, IB doesn't exactly care if you do 7 subjects - you get what you get. so pretty much, if you fail, you fail, and all
  13. Heeeey! Well i was in the same situation as you, except that i pretty much took all the Maths levels my school offered. I started the year with Maths HL, dropped to SL after half a semester and now am in Maths Studies. No, i didn't drop because Maths was hard, Maths has always been my strength. I decided to go down to studies because i came to realise how Universities work with the IB. It doesn't matter what subjects you do, whether art or sciences, Maths HL/SL or studies, all that matters at the end of the day is your overall IB grade (which is out of 45). Once an IB student gets a score in t
