  1. Found it pretty difficult. Especially the binomial expansion part.
  2. What did you guys put for the transformation on the first part of section B? It asked about a transformation in the X-axis and a vertical positive translation of 6 units? Original equation being something like: Ax^2 + 5x + 3 Doesn't it become: -Ax^2 + 5x + 9?
  3. What was the gradient for the parallel vector pair?
  4. Did anyone else get square root of 12 on the last question? Heard really varied results on it. Also does anyone know the positions of the derivatives and f(x) values that we had to place in order from lowest to greatest? Safe to say, I messed up on that one, my brain wasn't functioning properly then (started with section B). Ah well, aiming for that 5.
  5. I always thought they were sent straight away?
  6. So 24 hours have gone by, how did you guys find the first paper? Personally, I found it quite tricky and felt really long. Did anyone else get square root of 12 on the very last question?
  7. Hello! I'm doing my TOK presentation in a month with the KI: ''How can reason be used to justify religious beliefs''? I was wondering if the general debate, between science and religion (atheists coming to believers and asking them to prove this or that) an RLS? Thanks in advance, ibsurviving.
  8. Hello! I'm struggling with my math SL exploration due in February mainly because my topic is pretty complex (not really). The title of it is The Use of Monte Carlo Methods in the Game Battleship It's too late to change now and I was wondering if anyone knew how to apply the Monte Carlo Methods to the game itself. Cheers
  9. Hey guys, I was wondering if this question would be good as the title for my TOK presentation? How can reason be used to justify religious belief? Also, what would the knowledge issue in this case be? Is Einsteins meeting Tagore (intellectual debate between two great thinkers) a good real life situation? Reason induced science vs religion http://www.brainpickings.org/index.php/2012/04/27/when-einstein-met-tagore/ Cheers.
  10. Would really appreciate a fast answer! Thanks in advance!
  11. Wow, thanks this helped me loads! Sorry for the late reply, but being an IB student I've been pretty busy! Best regards.
  12. Hello, I was just wondering how you should tackle the exam questions as my B&M teachers tell us to write in full sentences and have a ''discussion'' while in the mark schemes of past papers show that many of the answers are in bullet form and have almost no discussion or explanations, just simple answers to the questions. Any advice would be appreciated.
  13. I'm a survivor, I'm not gonna give up... As much as I like that song and applying it to the difficulty of the IB, I decided to choose the username ''Ibsurviving'' as I'm still in the process of surviving (until exams - will probably change it if I don't survive ;-))
  14. Alefal is right, speak to your CAS coordinator again with clear indications as to how it fits into the criteria of being eligible for CAS! It all depends on how strict you school is regarding it, at my school that would definitely be acceptable but I can't speak for what your school thinks.
