Hey! So I need to solve this recurrence relation, preferably using generating functions (although another method is fine too, as long as you get a closed formula). Wn= 5(Wn-1) + 2 Any help would be appreciated!

Hi! So I was trying to formulate a topic for my Extended Essay, and one thing that really stood out to me in the current news in India is the fluctuating gold prices (previously this year, gold prices dropped rapidly). I was thinking that I could write my essay on the following topic: "How do fluctuating gold prices affect consumer consumption of gold in the -insert city name here- area?" What do you think? Can I write an Extended Essay on this? Is it too broad? Thanks for the help!

Hi! I'm working on my Math Exploration. I've done about half of it so far- I found an equation for the Tower of Hanoi solution and then proved it. However, I need to "explore further" on recurrence relations. I'm kind of stuck right now; I don't know what I can investigate in recurrence relations. Could you give me suggestions on what to do? Thanks!

Hey! So I had a question about my Math Exploration for my HL class. I'm doing it on the Tower of Hanoi. I've mainly talked about recursion to solve the problem of the Tower of Hanoi. I've also used mathematical induction to prove my thesis. Another concept I used was the transformation of graphs to find an expression I was looking for. Do you think that this is too simplistic for a Math HL Exploration (in terms of the mathematics used)? Thanks!

Help for Economics Exam Question!
bobsmegdorf replied to bobsmegdorf's topic in Economics and Business & Management
Yup, it is! Thank you so much for your help! I have more confidence in my answer now -
Okay, so here's the question: "Compare and contrast the expected impact of an increase in aggregate demand on the price level in the monetarist/new classical and Keynesian perspectives." [15 marks] I wrote about the different levels of real output and price level that the economy would end up producing at for the monetarist SRAS/LRAS curve and for each section of the Keynesian AS curve. Is that enough for an IB answer?

I'm doing my EE in Economics. I read about the prisoner's dilemma recently and its applications in Economics interested me. I would like to do an EE on something related to this, but I can't think of a research question. Could you give me some ideas and advice? I live in India, so it should be relevant to my country. Thanks for your help!
