When did you conduct your IA?

Hi, our Psychology teacher has given us forms for our IA, and I have chosen a topic, researched, blah-blah-blah. But I was wondering, she had suggested (and by suggest I mean ordered) that we conduct the experiment at school, but isn't giving us class time to do it. Also, considering people aren't really at school before or after school, and I'm generally doing something during these times, how would you suggest I do it? When did you do your IA?

Psych IA

I did my first psych IA write-up and my teacher gave it a failing grade. She's given us an example of a bad IA but I just do not understand what I'm supposed to be doing. I don't feel like I've had adequate guidance in doing this. She gave them back to us last week, but we're on winter break and wont be able to do anything until we get back. The final copy is due 3 days after vacation which is no time at all. I need help with my introduction ( i got 2/5 marks) and my discussion (2/8 marks)....any suggestions???

I've done my experiment twice already, and I just noticed I might have a problem with the replication part. I'm SL, I think I have to replicate the original experiment exactly, right? Well, since this is my teacher's first year teaching IB psych, she sometimes tells us things that are incorrect. When I told her my IA was going to have 3 groups for the IV, she said that only two groups were allow, and disapproved. I've looked around and saw that having 3 groups or more is fine. I'll briefly explain the original experiment: subjects are shown a color swatch, group A has to descriptively write what they saw, group B just has to visualize, and group C has to write down U.S.…

Magical Number Seven

I'm doing my internal assessment on Miller's Magical Number Seven study and was wondering if someone could help me find a good related study. I will be using Peterson and Peterson as one of the related studies as it confirms Miller's work and has specifics on the amount of time short term memory lasts. Thanks. Also does anyone have a link to the actual empircal study for Chase, William G., and Herbert A. Simon. 1973. "Perception in chess."

Can any help help me think of replicated experiment i can do with cunitz and glanzer's study?

I've decided that I want to write a report in social psychology. I want to do a study on group size vs. helping behaviour (something like the bystander effect..), but I don't know how to do it.. Apparently there are a lot of ethical considerations that I need to think of, since informed consent would ruin the point of the experiment. Anyone has any tips? or a better topic?

Does anyone have any good notes on this to share? I have some good notes on the other perspectives but not on The Learning Perspective. I don't really know my way around this site yet. How do I add a file as to contribute and such?
